Managing Stress

Dear Friends,

There was a lecturer speaking to the students about Stress Management ,he was holding  a glass in his hands and asked the students about the weight of the glass ,students answer varied from 20 gm to 200 gm. Having heard all the answers the lecturer said it does not matter how much is the weight of the glass as long as I am holding it for a small duration of time ,he further said, if I hold for a minute nothing happens ,if i hold it for more than 5 minutes my hand would start paining , if I continue for 5 hours may be you will need to call for an Ambulance…thus as the time  period increases it would start creating bigger problem ,instead if I hold it for some time and then keep it ,again hold it and keep it after sometime it would not create any harm irrespective of the weight of the glass.
The lecturer further  explained  that it goes the same when it comes to our tensions and worries if we hold them for more period of time , periodical treatment of holding and keeping again on timely basis helps us to bear the pain however if we continue holding it for longer duration it starts paining more. When we come to office let us keep aside the worries of our personal front till we go home if needed we can lift them again similarly when we go home let us keep the official tensions ,conflicts in the office only, if needed we can lift them again the next day…practically difficult but when made as a practice with intensive will power may be it can work to certain extent for sure.
